For the 10% win I did afsctool -c 9 9 XUL To test, I rebooted the mac, waited for things to settle and then started firefox to about:startup. How, exactly, do you do the compression? Using afsctool, I assume. But where can one find afsctool? Steven Michaud :smichaud (Retired) Comment 9.
Some Additional Information....
In the past, when Sky Drive was first created, the SkyDrive Sync Folder on my Computer was compressed via NTFS volume compression and once that happened, my files in SkyDrive got corrupted and I had to restore from a local backup. I dealt with MSFT Pro-Support who ultimately confirmed this to be a bug and fixed it, but the damage was already done when I lost all my files. Prior to the bug, if the NTFS volume was not compressed, everything was fine, but once the volume on which the SkyDrive Sync folder sat was compressed, the corruption would occur once the files synchronized.
I need to avoid experiencing that problem with OneDrive and HFS+ volume compression so I need an official statement from Microsoft confirming the problem doesn't exist or stating it might exist and they have to test and certify the situation first, before guaranteeing full compatibility.
